I use it for about 4 hours at work (not gaming) so much fun with Windows, Word Excel QCad, etc. It's brilliant!. Before that, I used a standard optical wireless mouse.
I have the wired version for my desktop PC and the cable is no problem. You no longer have to steal batteries from your TV remote when your wireless batteries run out at a crucial moment. - I work from home.
About 30 minutes to recalibrate my hand to use my thumb for the left click. The 3 remaining Fn buttons are programmed to be user-configurable. This was a breeze after a simple download of their software, and once done it provides some great shortcuts. I set them up to open the file manager, double click (really pretty cool), and the 'Start' button. the latter is crippled, but I ran out of ideas; If I have a better idea I'll reassign it.
The big ball is also a delight. I have a Logitec M570 for my laptop and that ball is smaller (but still fine). The big ball on this one has a noticeable sluggishness that you can feel under your finger when you move it and I love it.
I did some research through Amazon reviews and hovered over another miniature mouse due to fame. I ended up feeling adventurous and bought the finger ball instead. I'm glad I did because it's really good. It's not necessarily superior to the ball of the thumb, but I'd say it's refreshingly different. Would buy again if needed. I LOVE THIS DEVICE.
Trackball M-HT1URXBK Mouse Advantages:
Very comfortable. Great feeling multiple buttons. Scroll wheel with left/right tilt for horizontal page movement is very convenient. Apart from MacOS and Windows, this trackball works great on Linux too and since kernel 4.13.9 all buttons work, no special software required.

The center button on the scroll wheel takes more force than I'd like to press. The ball has more grip than other trackballs I have (Logitech Trackman Marble / Marble FX), making small movements difficult, but I solved the problem by treating the ball with PTFE spray dry lubricant (I used DuPont Teflon non-stick drying film lubricant). Alternatively, some people recommend replacing the synthetic ruby bearings with zirconia (2.5mm) for smoother ball movement.

The ball rolls on three large 2.5mm artificial ruby ball bearings. They are extremely smooth and due to their relatively large size, they cannot get clogged by dust and dirt. This way you don't have to clean the ball bearings too often. The ball is held in place by the ball bearings but can be easily removed from the unit by pushing it through the hole at the bottom and is easy to clean.
